Cheryl Nelson – Pink Parakeet Designs
Cheryl Nelson is the proud business owner behind Pink Parakeet Designs. When she’s not busy turning fabric into quilts, she is plotting her next quilt design or trying to locate her phone (spoiler: it’s probably under a pile of fabric!). You can find her creations at both local quilt shops and on Etsy. Cheryl thrives on inspiration from everyday life–music, sunny days, a touch of whimsy, and…flamingos! Each pattern tells a story, and she hopes her designs inspire others to create. She enjoys engaging with fellow creators, especially at Camp Tecumseh Quilt Camp in Delphi, Indiana, where every conversation is a learning opportunity.

Doris Rice – Cactus Queen Quilt Co
Doris began sewing at seven in Nevada, Missouri. Upon working at a local fabric store, her love of quilting developed, and she began teaching technique classes and workshops. She bought her first longarm machine in 1990 and after raising her family, she purchased her second longarm. Known as the Quilting Queen, she has expanded to pattern design, opened Queen’s Rustic Retreat for crafting getaways, and took over X-Blocks rulers and templates. She realized her dream to open a brick-and-mortar store, Cactus Queen Quilt Co – a full-service quilt shop – in 2018. Now based in San Antonio, Texas, Doris continues to teach and inspire others with her work and expertise.

Susan Cook – Larkspur Lane Designs
Susan has been quilting since 2000. Early on, she took a foundation paper piecing class and fell in love with the technique. Soon afterward, she designed her first quilt and was pleasantly surprised when people began asking for the pattern. Six of her designs have been included in the most recent Island Batik catalogs. Susan loves working with brand new fabric designs!
